From Monday 28 August to Wednesday 20 September 2017, maintenance work on Staples Corner Flyover means:

  • The A406 at Staples Corner will be closed to through traffic for up to three weekends
  • Slip roads will stay open
  • Roads in the area will be extremely busy, causing delays
  • All businesses and shops will be open and can be accessed from the A406 as usual via the slip roads

Staples Corner Flyover closures

Full closures

A406 Staples Corner Flyover will be fully closed (along with overnight lane closures on slip roads) on:

  • 22:00 Friday 1 to 05:00 Mon 4 September
  • 22:00 Friday 8 to 05:00 Mon 11 September
  • 00:01 to 23:59 Sunday 17 September

Part closures

  • Monday 28 to Thursday 31 August: overnight lane closures
  • 22:00 Monday 18 to 05:00 Tuesday 19 September: eastbound closure of the flyover
  • 22:00 Tuesday 19 to 05:00 Wednesday 20 September: westbound closure of the flyover

Driving

During the closures, all main approach roads and surrounding local roads will be extremely busy. Please plan ahead and leave more time for your journey, or use an alternative method of travel or routes. These include:

  • For journeys across London, you can use the M25
  • If you’re travelling to or from central London, you can use the A41, A5 and A1, but allow more time for extra traffic because of the closure
  • Walking, cycling, Tube and National Rail could be quicker ways to travel

Buses

Buses in the area will be delayed, diverted, reduced or terminate early. Affected routes include:

  • 32 (diverted via the A5 when the flyover is fully closed, and won’t serve Staples Corner)
  • 112
  • 142
  • 182
  • 232
  • 266
  • N16

Coaches

Coach services travelling though the area may be diverted or take longer because of these works. Contact your coach operator for details about possible changes to services, and allow plenty of time to travel.

Deliveries in London

If you make or receive deliveries in north London, talk to your customers and suppliers ahead of time. You may want to consider changing the times of your deliveries to avoid road closures, or using alternative routes that avoid busy areas.
