Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra
S26 Ultra: a privacy screen built in
The headline feature on the S26 Ultra is the Privacy Display. It can stop people beside you reading your screen without a privacy film, and you can turn it on for the whole screen or just for certain apps, notifications or your PIN. Charging is faster too, up from 45W to 60W, and the 200MP main camera has a brighter f/1.4 lens.
Samsung has also gone back to an aluminium frame after two years of titanium on the Ultra. The front is Gorilla Armor 2 and the back is Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The S Pen is still built in.
S26 and S26+
In the UK both phones run Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chip. They share a 50MP main camera, 12MP ultra wide and 10MP 3x telephoto, with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both sides and an IP68 rating. The S26+ adds a bigger 6.7-inch screen, a 4,900mAh battery and faster 45W charging.
S26 FE
The S26 FE is the more affordable option, with a 6.7-inch 120Hz screen, Exynos 2500 chip, 4,900mAh battery and 45W charging. It is the first S26 model to ship with One UI 9, and Samsung promises seven years of OS and security updates.
Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra and Flip8
Samsung launched three foldables at Galaxy Unpacked in London in July.
- Z Fold8 Ultra follows on from the Fold7 with an 8.0-inch inner screen, a 6.5-inch cover screen, a 200MP camera, a bigger 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging.
- Z Fold8 is a new shape: shorter and wider, with a 7.6-inch 4:3 inner screen. At 201g it is the lightest Z Fold yet.
- Z Flip8 has a 6.9-inch folding screen, a 4.1-inch cover screen and the Exynos 2600 chip.
Both Folds use a new layer Samsung calls Flex Titanium under the display, which it says reduces how visible the crease becomes over time. The cover screens use Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 and the backs use Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
What this means for repairs
Foldables and water
Samsung’s 2026 foldables are rated IP48, not IP68 like the S26 range. They resist water but have almost no protection against dust, sand and grit, which can get into the hinge. If your Fold or Flip starts to feel gritty or the inner screen develops a line or dead patch, get it looked at early.
Inner screens are the expensive part
On any Fold or Flip the inner folding display is the costliest repair, and it needs care because the panel is so thin. Cover screens and back glass are more straightforward jobs.
S26 Ultra batteries are easier to swap
Teardowns of the S26 Ultra found a pull-tab battery release, which makes battery replacement quicker and cleaner than on many earlier Galaxy phones.
Still on a Fold7 or Flip7?
We repair last year’s foldables too: see Z Fold7 repair and Z Flip7 repair. For older Galaxy models, our Samsung screen repair price list has prices by model.
Book a repair on a new Galaxy
Because these phones are so new, parts pricing is still settling. Every repair on them is priced from £100. The £100 you pay when booking online is a deposit: we check the phone in store, confirm the final price before any work starts, and take the deposit off your bill. If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the repair.
Each product page lists screen replacement, battery replacement, charging port repair and back glass repair. Pick your model from the list above to book.
Our workshop is at 91 Golders Green Road, London NW11 8EN, open seven days a week with no appointment needed. Call 020 8209 1225, message us on WhatsApp, or book online from the product page for your model.
